Haori is a type of traditional Japanese outerwear, a jacket or blazer-like garment.
 
This haori dating from the 1930s features a pine, bamboo leaf and peach blossom motif in pale blue and pink. Hiding inside the piece we discover a vibrant bird adorning the lining – a fine example of the 'iki' aesthetic of hidden beauty.  This haori is reversible; you can wear it on both sides.
