Michiyuki is a type of traditional Japanese outerwear, a coat or jacket-like garment closed with snap fasteners, inspired by Western fashion.  
 
This 1930s michiyuki is made of soft textured silk. The traditional shibori (tie-dye) technique was used to produce the traditional bamboo motif depicted on this piece.
